WEEKLY BULLETIN NOTES

GUESTS:   John introduced his guest this week: Julia Feltham, Executive Director of Renaissance Sackville & singing cellist. Sandy introduced Pat Estabrooks, former mayor of Sackville and here on behalf of the Sackville Hospital Foundation.

VISITING ROTARIANS:  None this week

MAKE-UPS: None this week.

BIRTHDAYS:  Jeff & Bill, and even though Jeff's birthday happens to be today, Bill somehow got stuck with the hat for the bulk of the meeting! Don't mess with those Engineers!

ANNIVERSARIES:  None this week

PINPAL:    None this week

50/50 DRAW:    Looking for the 9D, Judy drew the 10D. The pot stands at over $550 and growing, and there are only 4 cards left in the deck!

HAPPY DOLLAR$:

Dianne is happy to have a flower bed that is totally weed free after Sue came over and kept her end of the bargain from the Rotary Auction. Dianne is also happy to have grandson Bailey in Town for a visit.

Sue is happy because Dianne let her go 5 minutes early.

Josh is really enjoying the breakfasts here at Goya’s and happy Darrell took over his Greeter duties.

Trish is happy to have a bit of a going away reunion before one of her university friends moves away.

Susan P. happy to be heading to Toronto to spend 2 weeks visiting her father.

Sandy had a sad dollar for Carolyn Finley who passed away recently.

Marita recounted a story where she was watching a documentary (Nicky’s Family) where one of the characters was wearing an unmistakable sapphire Paul Harris pin. That may also be a cinematic Pinpal story.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

  • Trish provided an update on projects committee. Applying for a District grant for extra funding to partner with Owens art Gallery for their Family Sundays.
  • Josh provided a fundraising report, direction on W&B event, lots of good ideas. Maybe move the venue and incorporate other attractions into it. Band, dance, etc. to encourage people to spend the rest of the evening at the event.
  • Wayne is pleased to share that Wynn’s house will be the venue for the annual Rotary BBQ, Thursday June 26.

PRESIDENT’S TIME

John spoke on behalf of President Gayle who is currently in Madrid, Spain and had only one announcement to share:

  • Would like to encourage everyone to try to bring a guest regularly to our meetings to help promote what we do and help with new member recruitment.

PRESENTATION

Sandy introduced Elaine Smith who presented the Sackville Hospital new fundraising campaign. Following the presentation our club provided a generous donation to help the hospital reach their goal of $100,000.

Ove concluded the meeting with the 4-Way Test.
