PINPAL: Gabby discovered one of her friends from Vancouver is a new Rotarian as well after noticing a post about her Rotary club on Facebook. This may be our club’s first e-PinPal story!
John was at wandering Ottawa and happened to go into the only restaurant in Ottawa that had Trish sitting in it! In spite of the staggering odds of this actually occurring, the jury did not accept this as a true Pinpal story as neither Rotarian was wearing their pin!
50/50 DRAW: Looking for the 9D, Charlie drew the JD. The pot stands at over $370 and growing!
HAPPY DOLLAR$:
· Charlie happy to have a chance to draw for the 50/50 pot again, and was happy to attend the 95th birthday of John Hamm, an honorary Rotarian.
· Trish was happy to see John in Ottawa regardless if it didn’t count as a Pinpal story.
· Gabby is happy to meet where here son thinks she is learning to be a cowboy...

GUEST SPEAKER
Ken introduced our guest speaker Dr. Khashayar Ghandi who spoke about using “antimatters” in a particle accelerator to be used in green (environmentally friendly) technologies, focusing on making manufacturing products more friendly to the environment. His research team won a New Brunswick Innovation Foundation Breakthrough Prize in 2009 for research on Heat Resistant Polymers (The only time MTA has ever won against UNB). As a result, ChemGreen Innovation, an R&D company, was launched and is based here in Sackville. ChemGreen won $100k from the NBIF Breakthrough Prize, and has since attracted $400k in investments from industry.
Bill concluded the meeting with the 4-Way Test.
