HAPPY DOLLAR$:

Wynn was happy to have the best grandchild story today: Oldest grandson was selected to be valedictorian of his graduating class. His first reaction was that it is a “great opportunity”, demonstrating the maturity and leadership qualities that one would associate with being selected for the position.

Charlie was happy to have spent the month of May in sunny, warm BC. But he is also happy to be back in Sackville for the summer.

Marita is happy that Vanessa graduates next week.

John was happy to share that local artist Graeme Patterson has been short listed for the Sobey Art Award.

Dianne was at the TVMCC for the Sackville Sports Wall of Fame event and noticed there are several former Rotarians who are on the wall.

Louise is happy that a mother robin has set up a nest in the wreath hanging on their front door. They have set up a webcam to so she and Mariah can watch the chicks and they have come up with names for all of them.

Josh is happy he was able to attend a wedding in Newfoundland where he was “screeched in”.

TREASURER’S TIME

Darrell reported that he has assembled budget information for the 2014-15 fiscal year from all of the various committees. This year budgeted expenses work out to be $2,500 more than revenue. Executive is recommending that the shortfall made up by raising more money. Club members are encouraged to come up with new ideas for increasing revenue to the club through fundraising.

PRESENTATION

Wayne introduced our guest speaker Elizabeth Wells who provided a presentation titled “What is a Deacon?”

Sandy concluded the meeting with the 4-Way Test.
