WEEKLY BULLETIN NOTES

MAKE-UPS: Club Executive met on July 2nd.

PINPAL:   

  • Louise did a makeup at Union Club who has 99 members.
  • Gayle met Allan MacE.
  • Pam met a fellow Rotarian at the Toronto Airport on a recent trip.

50/50 DRAW:    Looking for the 3H, Charlie drew the 2C. The pot is a few bucks.

HAPPY DOLLAR$:

Charlie is happy to ring in a new Rotary year.

Bill was happy to share his wedding day with his son who was married on the same day.

Sue is happy to have a house full of visitors (who will be leaving tomorrow).

Mitchell is happy school is out for summer and to be back at Rotary.

Trish is happy Becky and her sister are arriving to spend the weekend.

Marita is happy her daughter will be going kayaking.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Admin: Awarded perfect attendance awards at the BBQ last week to Pam, Dale, Marita, Jamie, and Jordan. Pam was also presented with an award for being a Rotarian for 25 years.

Projects: Recommendation was brought forward from Projects and Executive to grant SappyFest $500 for the “Kids Corner Power Jam”. Trish moved, Ken seconded, vote was held and motion carried.

Fundraising: Corn boil date set for August 31st. Need volunteers to help prepare & serve, contact Pam H. via email.

RYE: Paperwork is in order for outgoing students (Italy) and incoming students Bente & Margot. Students will arrive last week of August. Still looking for host parents for last 4 months.

PRESIDENT’S TIME

John took the opportunity at his first President’s Time to share a few announcements:

  • Another brainstorming evening will be held in the evening of September 25th.
  • Lobster dinner will be held on the evening of August 21st. Mike Walsh to visit.
  • New member pins are available.

PRESENTATION

Charlie introduced Judy who provided her Classification Talk. Judy has been in Sackville for 15 years and has been managing the Mount A bookstore and support services for 10 years. She grew up in a small town and is a first generation Canadian. Her family moved here from the Netherlands. She loves to travel and has two boys age 11 and 14.

Gabi thanked Judy for her classification talk.

Wayne concluded the meeting with the 4-Way Test.
