WEEKLY BULLETIN NOTES

GUESTS: Mitchell is back (but too regular to be considered a "guest", even though he'll use his privileges to be first in line at the breakfast table). He celebrated his 14th birthday recently, but didn't wear the crazy hat since he is a guest. Sneaky, Mitchell. Very sneaky.

VISITING ROTARIANS:  None this week

JOEISM: A bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn.

MAKE-UPS: None this week

BIRTHDAYS: None             ANNIVERSARIES:  None

PINPAL:    None this week. Apparently we didn’t get out much last week because of Tropical Storm Arthur.

50/50 DRAW:    Looking for the 3H, Jamie drew the 4C. The pot stands at about $13.

HAPPY DOLLAR$:

Charlie is happy to share a PSA that Community Forests International (CFI) are having a pancake breakfast on Saturday 8-10 with their AGM starting at 10, School Lane in Middle Sackville. Jeff Schnurr, the Director of CFI is a Paul Harris Fellow.

Wynn is happy to have won the position of "bridesmaid" aka 2nd place (Gross) in his division: PEI amateur championship on the weekend as well as the Maritime Senior Championship in Amherst.

Louise is happy to be off to enjoy some down time with the family at the cottage this weekend.

Sue P. is off to Toronto again next week.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Trish: Projects committee presented a $500 to SappyFest Inc. to contribute towards bringing back the "Kids Corner Power Jam" to the festival. Jeff graciously accepted the cheque on behalf of SappyFest.

Gayle: Looking for volunteers to make crock pot chili at the corn boil in September. Details to follow in the coming weeks.

PRESENTATION

Jeff  introduced our guest speaker Amanda, Executive Director with EOS Eco-Energy who provided a presentation on “Rain Gardens” and what they do to help deal with increased rainfall events and climate change.

Edna thanked Amanda for her interesting talk.

Trish concluded the meeting with the 4-Way Test.
