SACKVILLE ROTARY BREAKFAST A SUCCESS!!

The Sackville Rotary Club hosted their spring breakfast on Saturday, March 24, 2012.  Co-chaired by Dale and Cathy they soon had to make arrangements for a new facility to host this event.  The Sackville Legion was chosen.  Dale commented, "Our first reaction to using the Legion facitity is positive. Although having the kitchen crew upstairs is not ideal, the lower dining area can seat 104 persons and has a positive astmosphere."

There were several other obstacles that Dale and Cathy met but worked through them and came up with alternative solutions.  And even though the Pancake Maker's area was isolated, I do know that she received many coffees and chit chats (thanks Darren, Gayle, Ken, students...) and was very happy that she did not burn the Legion down!

The kitchen and its small staff were also located on the second floor with a site-line to the pancakes.  My goodness, Josh made me tired just watching him come up and down and up and down those stairs with trays of food.  Ah, youth!  Josh, was thankfully helped out by several Tantramar Regional High School students, including a couple from grade 10.  I asked them why they volunteered, if they were interested in the RYE program...One said that they were getting some experience to put on a resume as he was applying at a restaurant; and the other just likes to help!  It was also a pleasure to see our two outbound RYE students helping out.  Thanks Dylan, Elizabeth, Julie and Tyler!!

While I didn't get to see them in action, I know that Rotarians were hopping on the floor...

"We served 329 customers and received a number of positive comments.
Receipts should cover all expenses and meet our objective of covering 2 bursaries to graduating TRHS students."

~ Co-chair Dale

Big thanks to all you ticket sellers (I am horrible).  We all received an email of thanks! from Dale and Cathy...but a bigger thanks goes to Dale and Cathy, and their committee, for all their hard work in the planning and implementation of another successful Rotary breakfast.
