MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION EVENING

On March 1, 2012, Sackville Rotary Club invited several outside guests to come for an evening of camaraderie while learning about some of the great things Rotary has to offer, both locally and abroad.  The event was held at Crab Tree Auditorium (Mount Allison) and started at 7pm.  The meeting replaced our regular breakfast meeting for the week.

Opening remarks were given my President Ken followed by a brief history of Rotary International and the Sackville Club by Charlie Scobie.

The guest speaker for the evening was former Governor General (and Sackville doctor) Marilyn Trenholme-Counsell who was introduced by Rotarian Peter Hess.  Sue Purdy thanked Marilyn for her time and presentation to Rotary.

Pam Harrison then shed some light on Rotary at an international level while Trish Edwards presented a more local approach and explained what Rotary means to her.

The meeting adjourned with Andy Rose inviting our guests to stay and speak with members.

Many thanks to our Membership Committee for arranging this information session to potential Sackville Rotarians.
